Null Return Model FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need both ModelEngine and MythicMobs for this mod to work?
Yes, both plugins are required. ModelEngine handles the robot model rendering, while MythicMobs controls their behavior and skills. Without either one, the robots won't spawn or function correctly.
Why can't I see the robots even though the mod is installed?
You likely haven't merged the resource pack into your server's pack or clients haven't downloaded it. Check that you've moved the emissive textures and custom sound assets from the ModelEngine folder into your active resource pack, then restart the server.
How do I make robots actually spawn in my world?
Use MythicMobs commands or configuration files to set spawn conditions for each robot type. The mod includes pre-configured MythicMobs files with all six robots already set up—you just need to define where and when they appear in your world settings.
What's the difference between the three combat items?
EMP grenades disable or damage robots, pesticide affects biological threats, and robot bait attracts mechanical enemies to specific locations. Each item serves a different tactical purpose in combat or mob management.
The robots look like purple and black cubes. How do I fix this?
This means the resource pack isn't loaded on your client. Download the resource pack from your server, add it to your client's resource packs folder, and enable it in your video settings, then rejoin the server.
Can I use this mod on a single-player world?
No, this mod is designed for servers only. It requires server-side plugins (ModelEngine and MythicMobs) to function, so it won't work in single-player Survival mode.
Do the robots have custom sounds and what do they do?
Yes, all six robots have unique sound effects for their combat actions—footsteps, attacks, and alerts. These 23 custom sounds are included in the mod and play automatically when robots interact with the world.
Why do the robots look dark or invisible at night?
You need to enable emissive textures in your resource pack settings. The mod includes emissive texture files that make robots glow in the dark—make sure these are merged into your active pack and that your client supports emissive rendering.
Can I customize robot spawning rates or difficulty?
Yes, through the MythicMobs configuration files included with the mod. You can adjust spawn rates, health, damage, and skill behavior for each of the six robots by editing their individual mob files.
Will this mod cause lag on my server?
Performance depends on how many robots spawn simultaneously and your server's specs. Start with conservative spawn rates and monitor server performance, then adjust MythicMobs settings if you experience issues.
