How to Harvest Crops and Process Clay and Ceramics

Harvesting Crops

Crops need a Flint Hoe to turn dirt or grass into farmland. Craft the hoe from Flint Shards and a handle, then right-click dirt to till it. The hoe is the only way to create farmland in this mod, so make it early if you plan to farm.

Clay and Worked Clay

Mine clay blocks to get clay balls, then process them. Worked Clay is the intermediate item produced from clay. Clay Brick comes from smelting Worked Clay. Both feed the ceramic chain.

Ceramic Vessels and Buckets

The ceramic line includes Clay Small Vessel, Clay Large Vessel, Ceramic Small Vessel, Ceramic Large Vessel, Clay Bucket, Ceramic Bucket, Ceramic Water Bucket, and Clay Flower Pot. Clay versions are unfired; ceramic versions are the fired, usable forms. Fire clay items in a furnace or on a campfire to convert them. The Ceramic Water Bucket holds water; the Ceramic Bucket is the general-purpose fired bucket.

Flower Pots and Storage

Clay Flower Pot is a decorative block for plants. Ceramic Small Vessel and Ceramic Large Vessel are storage containers — place them and interact to store items. Build a kiln area with a furnace and a campfire so you can fire clay and cook food in the same spot.
