Clay, Ceramic, and Worked Clay Progression

Gather Clay and Make Worked Clay

Find clay near water and dig it up. Combine clay with Plant Fiber or shape it by hand to produce Worked Clay. Worked Clay is the intermediate block you use to build ceramic items. Place Worked Clay and let it dry or fire it in a furnace to convert it into usable ceramic forms.

Fire Clay Buckets and Vessels

Smelt Worked Clay in a furnace to produce:

• Clay Bucket — carries water and other fluids.
• Clay Small Vessel — small storage container.
• Clay Large Vessel — larger storage container.
• Clay Flower Pot — decorative planting block.

Once fired, these become Ceramic Bucket, Ceramic Small Vessel, Ceramic Large Vessel, and Ceramic Water Bucket. The Ceramic Water Bucket holds water for farming and crafting.

Use the Ceramic Bucket

Fill a Ceramic Bucket or Ceramic Water Bucket at a water source. Use it to move water to your base, fill cauldrons, or hydrate farmland. The ceramic versions are the durable end of the clay line.

Clay Tools and Bricks

Craft a Clay Tool for shaping clay recipes. Fire clay to produce Clay Brick for building. Combine Clay Brick with Worked Clay and other ceramics to expand your base. Keep a stack of Worked Clay on hand so you can replace broken vessels without returning to the clay pit.
