Adjust Shader Settings for Better Performance
Access the Shader Options
Press Shift + O while in-game to open the NeoLux Shaders configuration menu. This overlay lets you tweak visual quality without restarting.
Key Settings to Adjust
Shadow Quality: Lower this if you experience frame drops. Softer shadows remain even at reduced quality, maintaining the cinematic feel.
Volumetric Cloud Density: Reduce cloud detail if performance suffers. Clouds will still drift naturally but render faster.
Bloom Intensity: Dial back the glow effect on light sources and bright skies if your GPU struggles. The shader remains visually cohesive at lower bloom values.
Water Reflections: Disable or reduce reflection detail for significant performance gains. Water will still appear dark and calm, just with less mirror-like accuracy.
Finding Your Balance
Start by lowering one setting at a time and observe frame rate changes. NeoLux is designed to look good across a range of quality levels—you don't need maximum settings to enjoy the peaceful aesthetic. Test in different biomes and times of day, as performance varies with cloud coverage and shadow complexity.
