Switch to a Custom Relay Server

Understand Relay Options

By default, Nekorelay connects to a free public relay service. If you want more control, privacy, or reliability, you can configure the plugin to use a custom relay server instead.

Edit the Configuration

Open config.yml in your plugins/Nekorelay folder. Find the relay address or endpoint setting. Replace the default relay URL with your custom relay server's address. Save the file.

Restart and Verify

Restart your server. The plugin will now connect to your custom relay instead of the public one. Check the console to confirm the connection is successful.

Using a custom relay gives you full control over player data and connection routing. This is ideal if you're running a private network, need guaranteed uptime, or want to avoid any dependency on third-party services. Ensure your custom relay is properly configured and accessible before switching.
