More Machinery And Features Data Pack — Guide

Vehicles: The Submarine

The Submarine is a specialized entity-based vehicle designed for deep-sea exploration. It protects the player from drowning and the high-pressure damage found in the Deep Ocean dimension.

  • Controls: Use WASD to steer, Space to ascend, and Left-Shift to descend.
  • Oxygen: The submarine has its own oxygen reserve that refills when at the surface.
  • Durability: The hull can be damaged by hostile sea creatures and must be repaired with Iron Ingots.
  • Deep Sea Access: Driving the submarine into the deepest parts of the ocean (Y < 30) in specific biomes will trigger the transition to the Deep Ocean dimension.

Dimensions

The pack adds two primary dimensions, each with unique environmental hazards and resources.

The Void

The Void is a dark, desolate dimension consisting of floating islands made of Void Stone. Gravity is lower here, allowing for higher jumps, but the atmosphere is toxic without a specialized breathing apparatus. * Access: Build a portal frame of Crying Obsidian and ignite it with a Void Core. * Resources: Void Crystals, Ancient Debris (more common here).

The Deep Ocean

An endless abyss of water where sunlight never reaches. The pressure is so high that players without a Submarine or a full Diving Suit will take continuous damage. * Access: Submerge a Submarine in deep ocean biomes. * Resources: Luminescent corals, rare pearls, and sunken treasure chests.

Mechanics and Energy System

The data pack utilizes a custom scoreboard-based energy system to track Energy Units (EU).

  1. Generation: Power is generated by Solar Panels (day), Wind Turbines (height-based), or Coal Generators (fuel-based).
  2. Transmission: Machines must be placed adjacent to each other or connected via Energy Cables to share power.
  3. Consumption: Each machine has a specific EU/tick cost. If the energy supply is insufficient, the machine will stall.
  4. Upgrades: Most machines have slots for "Speed Upgrades" (increases processing speed but raises energy cost) and "Efficiency Upgrades" (reduces energy cost).

Commands

  • /function mmaf:help: Displays an in-game guide for the data pack.
  • /function mmaf:give_all: (Admin only) Gives all custom items for testing purposes.
  • /trigger mmaf_energy: Displays the current energy level of the machine the player is looking at.
