Enable Screen-Space Reflections on Your Water

Access Shader Settings

Once SSR Shaders is loaded through OptiFine or Iris, open the shader options menu in-game. Press Shift + O (OptiFine) or access Options > Shader Options (Iris) to view available toggles.

Activate Reflections

Look for settings related to Screen-Space Reflections, SSR, or Water Reflections. Enable the toggle to activate mirror-like reflections on water surfaces. Some versions allow you to adjust reflection quality or intensity—higher settings produce more detailed reflections but may impact performance.

Test Your Setup

Navigate to a body of water—a river, lake, or ocean works best. Look at the water surface and confirm that nearby blocks, terrain, and sky are now reflected. If reflections appear dim or absent, verify that your shader option is fully enabled and that you're using a compatible loader version.

Reflections work best when you're standing at water level or slightly above. Underwater, reflections may not be visible due to the nature of screen-space reflection techniques.
