Mine Lights Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why isn't my RGB gear lighting up when I load into a world?
Make sure you've enabled your hardware software in the mod settings—just turning on the mod isn't enough. Open Mod Menu, select Mine Lights, click the gear icon, and toggle on the specific software controlling your devices (OpenRGB, iCUE, G HUB, etc.), then refresh your device list.
Can I use this mod with my smart home lights?
Yes, if you have Yeelights smart bulbs, you can connect them through the mod settings. They'll sync with biome colors and status effects just like your keyboard and mouse.
My keyboard lights up but my mouse doesn't—what's wrong?
Your mouse software might not be enabled in the mod settings, or your mouse model isn't supported by that software. Check which software controls your mouse (Corsair iCUE, Logitech G HUB, Razer Chroma, or SteelSeries GameSense) and make sure it's toggled on in the mod menu.
How do I turn off lighting for specific devices?
Open the mod settings through Mod Menu, find the hardware software you want to disable, and toggle it off. You can mix and match—for example, keep your keyboard synced but disable your mouse.
Do I need to be in a specific biome to see the lighting effects?
Yes, biome colors only trigger when you walk into that biome. Other effects like damage flashes, thunderstorm alerts, and health bar displays work anywhere in your world.
What happens to my lighting during a thunderstorm?
Your desk lights and keyboard will flash in sync with the storm. If it's also raining, you'll see rain-related color shifts between the flashes.
Can I use the numpad compass without carrying a compass item?
No, the numpad compass only activates when you have a compass in your inventory. The keys will light up to show your current direction relative to spawn or your set waypoint.
My health bar isn't showing on my function keys—how do I enable it?
Open the mod settings and make sure the health/status bar feature is toggled on. Your function keys (F1-F12) should then display your health, hunger, and experience as colored segments.
Does this mod work on Linux or macOS?
Yes, but only through OpenRGB, which supports all three operating systems. Other software like iCUE, G HUB, and Razer Chroma are Windows-only, so your options depend on which RGB software your gear uses.
Why does my lighting lag or stutter during gameplay?
Having too many RGB devices synced at once can impact performance. Try disabling lighting for devices you don't need, or reduce the number of active software connections in the mod settings.
