Cables and Cubes

Energy moves through Universal Cables. Place a Basic Energy Cube as your storage block, then run Basic Universal Cable from the cube to each machine. Right-click a cable with a Configurator to set which sides push and which pull. Machines pull energy automatically when connected, but the Configurator lets you control direction so you do not loop power back into the source.

Upgrading Throughput

Basic Universal Cable has a low transfer rate. When machines starve for power, replace it with Advanced Universal Cable and swap your Basic Energy Cube for an Advanced Energy Cube. Higher-tier cubes store more and output faster. For very large setups, use an Induction Provider with Basic Induction Cell or Advanced Induction Cell to build a multiblock energy storage array that dwarfs a single cube.

Charging Tools and Armor

Place a Chargepad and cable it to your energy network. Standing on the Chargepad recharges the Jetpack, Free Runners, Atomic Disassembler, and other chargeable gear. This is the fastest way to top up a Jetpack without carrying a cube.

Portable Power

For field work, keep a charged Basic Energy Cube in your inventory and place it down when you need to run a machine on site. Cable it to whatever you are powering, then pick it back up when finished.
