How to Set Up Your First Ore Processing Line

Build the machines

Place a Crusher, an Enriching Factory, and a Smelting Factory. Feed the Crusher with raw ore to get two crushed ore per input. Route crushed ore into the Enriching Factory to produce dust, then send dust to the Smelting Factory for ingots. Use Basic Universal Cable to move power and Basic Logistical Transporter to move items between machines.

Power and upgrades

Connect a Basic Energy Cube to the cable network and charge it with a Chargepad or by feeding it from a generator. Insert a Basic Tier Installer into each machine to unlock the next tier, then an Advanced Tier Installer for the tier after that. Upgrade machines to Advanced Crushing Factory, Advanced Enriching Factory, and Advanced Smelting Factory to process faster and accept more parallel inputs.

Expand outputs

Add a Combiner to merge dusts back into ingots when you have surplus, and a Chemical Dissolution Chamber plus Chemical Crystallizer once you have chemical handling online. Store finished ingots in a Basic Bin or Advanced Bin. Keep a Configurator on hand to rotate machine sides so input, output, and power faces line up cleanly.
