How to Set Up Your First Mekanism Power and Ore Processing Line

Power First

Place a Basic Energy Cube as your starter power buffer. Feed it with a Basic Universal Cable run to whatever generator you have, then run Basic Universal Cable from the cube to each machine. The Basic Energy Cube accepts and outputs power on any side, so you can chain multiple cubes later by upgrading to Advanced Energy Cube when you need more storage.

Ore Doubling

Place a Crusher and connect it to your cable. Feed raw ore in and it outputs two crushed ore per input. Send the crushed ore to an Enriching Factory to get more output per ore, or straight to a Basic Smelting Factory to smelt the crushed ore into ingots. A Basic Smelting Factory smelts three items at once, so it keeps up with the Crusher without you babysitting it.

Scaling Up

When one Crusher is not enough, place a Basic Tier Installer on the machine and right-click to upgrade it to the next tier, then repeat for Advanced Crushing Factory. Use Basic Mechanical Pipe to move items between machines and Basic Logistical Transporter when you want items pulled from chests automatically. Keep every machine touching a Basic Universal Cable or a Chargepad so it never stalls on power.
