Sources of Radiation

Radiation comes from handling radioactive materials, primarily Uranium and its processed forms. Mining Uranium ore, storing Uranium ingots or blocks, and running machines that process Uranium all release radiation into the surrounding area. The more radioactive material you keep in one place, the stronger the field becomes.

Containing the Source

Store Uranium and its products far from your main base. Use a Basic Bin or Advanced Bin placed in a separate, enclosed area to hold raw Uranium and Uranium Ingots. Keep Block of Uranium and Block of Raw Uranium out of your living space entirely. If a machine processes Uranium, isolate that machine behind solid blocks and away from where you sleep or craft.

Managing Exposure

Radiation dissipates over distance. Do not carry Uranium in your inventory for long periods. When you must move it, make the trip short and store it immediately in a designated bin. Keeping radioactive materials in one remote, walled-off location is the most reliable way to keep the rest of your base safe.
