How to Get Started with Mekanism: Your First Power and Ore Processing

First Steps

Begin by mining Osmium, Tin, and Lead. Craft a Basic Control Circuit from Osmium and Redstone, then use it to build a Basic Energy Cube, a Basic Universal Cable, and a Basic Enriching Factory. The Enriching Factory doubles ore output by converting raw ore into two dusts per input, which is the fastest early-game return on your materials.

Generating Power

Place a Basic Energy Cube and connect it to your machines with Basic Universal Cables. The Energy Cube stores power and distributes it to anything touching the cable network. To fill the cube, feed it from any generator you already have or charge it with a Chargepad by standing on it. Once the cube holds charge, your Enriching Factory will run continuously as long as it has ore and the cube has stored energy.

Expanding Production

Use your doubled dust output to craft Bronze Ingots from Copper and Tin dusts in a Combiner or crafting grid. Bronze feeds into Basic Mechanical Pipes and Basic Fluid Tanks. Build a Basic Crushing Factory next to turn ingots and ores into dusts at higher speed than the Enriching Factory alone. Every machine you add should sit adjacent to a Universal Cable so it draws from the same Energy Cube. Upgrade machines later with Basic Tier Installers to unlock faster processing without rebuilding your layout.
