How to Generate and Store Power with Energy Cubes and Cables
Choose a Generator and Cable Tier
Place a Heat Generator or similar power source, then run Basic Universal Cable from its output face to your machines. Universal Cable carries energy and connects to any Mekanism machine that accepts power. Use Basic Universal Cable for low-tier machines and Advanced Universal Cable once your draw exceeds the basic cable's transfer limit.
Store Energy in Cubes
Place a Basic Energy Cube near your generator. Connect it with Universal Cable so surplus power charges the cube. The cube then discharges into machines when the generator cannot keep up. Right-click the cube to open its interface and read the stored charge. Upgrade the cube with a Basic Tier Installer to convert it to an Advanced Energy Cube, raising both capacity and output rate.
Distribute Power Reliably
Run a single cable trunk from the cube and branch to each machine. Keep cable runs short to reduce loss. If a machine does not receive power, check that the cable touches a face the machine accepts and that the cube's output side faces the cable. For larger bases, place multiple Energy Cubes and link them with Universal Cable so they share load. Use a Chargepad to recharge items such as the Atomic Disassembler, Armored Jetpack, and Armored Free Runners by standing on it.
