Enable and Control Foliage Animation
Find Animation Settings
In shader options, navigate to Foliage, Wind, or Animation settings. MCL Shaders adds subtle movement to leaves and grass.
Adjust Wave Parameters
Common options include:
- Foliage Wave Strength: Controls how much leaves and grass sway. Higher values create more noticeable movement; lower values produce barely-visible rustling.
- Wave Speed: Adjusts how fast foliage moves. Faster speeds feel windy; slower speeds feel calm.
- Wave Frequency: Determines the pattern of movement—whether trees sway together or independently.
Performance Considerations
Foliage animation has minimal performance impact, so it's usually safe to enable at full strength. However, very high wave strength on High profile with dense forests may cause slight frame drops on older GPUs.
Visual Tuning
Stand in a forest or near tall grass and observe the movement. If it looks too exaggerated or unrealistic, reduce wave strength. If it's imperceptible, increase it. Most players prefer subtle, natural-looking movement that mimics a gentle breeze.
