Matcha Block Overlays Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why aren't my blocks blending together even though I installed the pack?
You need to install a connected textures mod like OptiFine or Continuity for the overlays to work—the resource pack alone cannot create these effects. Make sure your connected textures mod is enabled in your game settings and that the Matcha Block Overlays pack is positioned above any other overlay packs in your resource pack list.
What's the difference between this pack and regular Matcha Flavoured?
Matcha Block Overlays adds special transition textures that soften the edges where different blocks meet, creating a more natural blended appearance. The base Matcha Flavoured pack provides the core textures, while this overlay pack enhances them with smooth connections between block types.
Do I need to install Matcha Flavoured separately or does this pack include it?
You need to have the base Matcha Flavoured pack installed first, as Matcha Block Overlays is designed to work on top of it. Install Matcha Flavoured below this pack in your resource pack list, then place Matcha Block Overlays above it.
My blocks still have hard edges—how do I fix the blending?
Check that your connected textures mod is actually enabled in your video settings, not just installed. If it's enabled, try moving the Matcha Block Overlays pack higher in your resource pack list, as packs loaded lower can override its effects.
Does this pack work with Fabric or only Forge?
Resource packs work with both Fabric and Forge as long as you have a compatible connected textures mod installed—Continuity works with Fabric, while OptiFine works with Forge.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, but Matcha Block Overlays must be positioned above other packs in your resource pack list to apply its blending effects properly. Packs loaded below it may override the overlay textures.
Will using this pack affect my game performance?
The pack itself has minimal impact, but the connected textures mod required to run it (OptiFine or Continuity) may affect performance depending on your hardware. You can adjust connected textures settings in your mod's options if you experience lag.
Why do mossy blocks spread to nearby stone and dirt in my world?
That's an intentional feature of this pack—the overlay textures make mossy cobblestone blend naturally into adjacent dirt and stone blocks to create a more organic, weathered appearance. This is purely visual and doesn't change how the blocks actually function in your world.
Does this pack change how any blocks behave or only how they look?
This is purely a visual resource pack—it only changes textures and how blocks appear when they touch each other. No block mechanics, properties, or gameplay are altered.
Can I use this with shader packs?
Yes, Matcha Block Overlays works alongside shader packs since it's a resource pack, not a mod that changes rendering. The blending effects will display normally with most popular shaders.
