Comparing Weapon Behavior Across Mod Weapons

Weapons Affected by Malfu Combat

Malfu Combat overhauls weapons from multiple sources: the base Better Combat mod, Simply Swords, Cataclysm, and Simply More Weapons. Each weapon type now has distinct attack patterns, timing, and reach.

How to Test Different Weapons

1. Gather several weapons: Collect items from different mod sources to compare

2. Fight the same mob type: Use each weapon against a single zombie or skeleton to observe differences

3. Note the animation length: Longer animations often mean delayed hits but potentially higher reach

4. Check attack speed: Some weapons swing faster, others slower—this affects your DPS and combat rhythm

5. Observe reach differences: Stand at various distances and note which weapons can connect

What to Look For

Each weapon category (swords, axes, spears, etc.) will feel unique. Larger weapons typically have slower, wider swings with extended reach. Smaller weapons are faster but require closer positioning. Weapons from Cataclysm may have more dramatic animations than Simply Swords alternatives.

Experiment to find which weapon style matches your preferred combat approach—aggressive and fast, or patient and powerful.
