Lumeon Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable Lumeon Shaders after installing it?
Open your Video Settings in-game, navigate to Shaders, and select Lumeon Shaders from the list. The shader will activate immediately, though you may need to restart your world for all effects to fully load.
Why is my game running slowly with this shader?
Lumeon Shaders uses path-tracing which is demanding; try switching to a lower performance preset in the shader settings menu. You can also disable or reduce bloom intensity and reflection quality to gain more frames.
Can I adjust individual shader settings or am I stuck with presets?
You can customize individual settings beyond presets—open the shader options screen (usually by pressing a key while in-game or through Video Settings) to tweak lighting intensity, shadow softness, bloom, and water reflections separately.
Why do my reflections look broken or disappear at certain angles?
Water reflections depend on your hardware and performance preset; lower presets reduce reflection quality or distance. Make sure you're not looking at water from extreme angles, as some reflection systems have viewing limits.
Does Lumeon work with resource packs?
Yes, Lumeon works with most resource packs, but PBR-enhanced textures from Lumeon may be overridden if your resource pack includes its own textures. For best results, use resource packs designed to work with PBR shaders.
Why do caves and dark areas look washed out or too bright?
Colored lighting from glowing blocks and torches can create unexpected brightness in caves; try reducing the colored lighting intensity in shader settings, or adjust your torch placement to control ambient light levels.
Is Lumeon compatible with Optifine or other shader mods?
Lumeon is designed to work as a standalone shader and may conflict with other shader mods or Optifine's shader features. Install only one shader system at a time to avoid compatibility issues.
How do I reduce bloom without turning it off completely?
Open the shader settings menu and look for bloom or glow intensity sliders; you can dial it down to a subtle level rather than disabling it entirely, which keeps the cozy lighting effect while reducing visual noise.
Why do shadows look strange or flicker when I move?
Shadow artifacts can occur on lower-end hardware or when performance settings are mismatched to your GPU; try increasing your performance preset or reducing shadow distance and softness in the shader options.
Can I use Lumeon Shaders on servers or multiplayer worlds?
Shaders are client-side only, so you can use Lumeon on any server or multiplayer world without affecting other players. However, server-side mods that modify lighting may conflict with shader effects.
