Set Up Your First Claimed Territory Without Going Broke

Check Your Team Bank Balance First

Before claiming any chunks, open your FTB Teams interface and verify your team has enough coins. Land prices scale upward as your territory grows, so your first claims will be cheapest. Early expansion is your best opportunity to build a foundation affordably.

Claim Strategically in Clusters

Use Xaero's World Map to view claim borders and prices before committing. Right-click on unclaimed chunks to see the exact cost. Claim chunks adjacent to each other to form a compact territory—this makes defense easier and looks cleaner on the map. Avoid scattered claims across the map, as you'll pay more total upkeep protecting fragmented land.

Create Your First Region

Once you own several chunks, open the FTB Teams interface and click the lock icon to create a custom region. Assign your claimed chunks to this region and configure protection rules: toggle PvP, explosions, and mob griefing on or off based on your needs. Set access tiers to control who can build, break blocks, or interact with containers.

Budget for Upkeep

Remember that claiming land is only the first cost. Regions require recurring upkeep fees to keep protections active. Plan your expansion so your team bank can comfortably cover both new claims and existing maintenance.
