Lightman’s Currency X FTB Chunks Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I claim my first chunk without draining my bank account?
Start by claiming chunks close together in one area—the cost scales based on total territory size, so spreading out claims makes everything more expensive. Check the claim price on Xaero's map before committing, and make sure your personal or team bank account has enough coins to cover it.
What happens if my team runs out of money to pay upkeep?
Protections turn off one by one as your balance drops, starting with the oldest or least-protected regions. Once a region loses protection, other players can grief, build, or claim chunks in that area until you deposit enough coins to reactivate it.
Can I have different protection rules for different parts of my territory?
Yes—divide your claimed land into custom regions using the lock icon in the FTB Teams interface, then set independent rules for each region covering PvP, explosions, mob griefing, and access tiers.
How do I sell chunks to another player?
Open Xaero's World Map, right-click the chunk you want to sell, and use the real estate menu to list it on the market. Buyers can then purchase it directly, and the coins go to your team bank account.
What's the point of declaring war, and how much does it cost?
War adds extra upkeep fees to both your team and your rival's team for the duration of the conflict, making territory more expensive to maintain. It's a way to economically pressure enemies, but the cost scales based on your mod's server config.
Can I set a whitelist or blacklist on my personal chunks?
Yes—if you own a chunk privately, you can manage personal whitelists and blacklists through Xaero's map interface to control who can build or access that specific plot.
Do I get my coins back if I unclaim a chunk?
You get a partial refund when unclaiming, but not the full amount you originally paid—the exact refund percentage depends on your server's config settings.
Why is my territory so expensive compared to other teams?
Claim costs scale as your total territory grows, so larger empires pay more per chunk than smaller ones. Early claims stay affordable, but expanding aggressively will push your per-chunk costs higher.
Can I see claim borders and prices on the map without opening a menu?
Yes—Xaero's World Map overlay shows claim borders, owner names, and market prices directly on your map, and you can right-click to manage or buy chunks without leaving the map view.
What should I do if my team officer is spending all our coins on useless claims?
Only team officers and leaders can manage claims and declare wars, so talk to your leadership about budget priorities. If needed, unclaim expensive low-value chunks to free up coins for more strategic territory.
