Legend Quest Re Forged Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I create my character when I first join?
After joining the server, you'll be prompted to select your starting race and class. Use the character menu to review your choices—each race and class combination affects your core stats and available skills. Once confirmed, you spawn into the world and can begin gaining experience.
What's the difference between modded and vanilla client play?
Vanilla clients can play the full progression system through chat and the action bar, but modded clients get extra features: an in-game handbook, a character panel, and a five-slot skill loadout bar for faster access during combat. Both experience the same core RPG mechanics and can party together.
How do I bind skills to weapons for faster casting?
Open your character panel or handbook, select an active skill, and bind it to the weapon you're holding. When you hold that weapon in combat, the bound skill triggers instantly without needing to navigate menus, letting you cast during fights without delay.
Can I turn off passive skills I don't want active?
Yes, use the command `/skill toggle` followed by the skill name to disable any always-on passive skill. Toggle it again the same way to reactivate it whenever you need.
How does karma affect my character progression?
Your actions throughout the game are tracked by the karma system, which unlocks distinct good or evil progression routes. Different skills, perks, and class paths become available depending on your alignment, so your choices genuinely shape your character's abilities.
What's the best way to gain experience points early on?
You earn experience from defeating mobs, mining ores, and smelting materials. Early on, focus on mob kills and ore processing since they're reliable sources; as you level, you'll unlock skills that make grinding more efficient.
How do parties work and what's the benefit?
Use `/pc` to send a message to your party or toggle permanent party chat mode. Parties give you shared group buffs, private communication channels, and make coordinated combat easier—especially useful for dungeon runs or boss fights.
Can I use polyhedral dice rolls in this mod?
Yes, the `/roll` command supports full tabletop dice notation including standard numbers, polyhedral sets (d20, d12, etc.), stat modifiers, and advantage checks. This lets you resolve uncertain outcomes with proper tabletop mechanics during roleplay or group decisions.
Do I need to worry about mobs despawning while I'm hunting them?
If you're using a Tracker or Scout role, you can mark target mobs with a glowing outline that prevents them from despawning during hunts. This makes long hunts and boss tracking much more reliable.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues on my server?
The mod runs entirely server-side, so it doesn't require clients to download extra files or run heavy computations locally. Performance impact depends on your server hardware and player count, but the design is optimized to minimize overhead.
