Recover Items After Dying in a Different Dimension

Identifying Cross-Dimension Deaths

When you die in one dimension and respawn in another (or your spawn point is different), the death compass will alert you that your items are in a different realm. This commonly happens when you die in the Nether or End.

Retrieving Your Items

1. Type /deathinfo to confirm which dimension contains your death location

2. Navigate to the appropriate portal (Nether portal, End gateway, etc.)

3. Travel through the portal to reach the dimension where you died

4. Once in the correct dimension, hold your death compass

5. Follow the compass needle to your dropped items

Important Considerations

Be aware that items despawn after a certain time period. If you died in a dangerous area, prepare appropriate gear before traveling back—the compass only guides you to the location, it doesn't protect you from threats.

Always check /deathinfo first to see if the journey is worth the risk based on distance and dimension.
