Laser’s Additions Cobblemon Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get my Pokémon to learn the new custom moves?
Custom moves are added directly to Pokémon movesets through this pack, so they'll learn them naturally when leveling up or through level-up moves. You can also use the SimpleTMs config files included with the pack to teach custom moves via TMs if you have that mod installed.
What are the new attack types and how do they work?
This pack introduces new attack categories like kicking, throwing, hammer, beam, and light moves alongside traditional types. These new categories have their own animations and may interact differently with abilities and defenses than standard moves.
Why don't my Pokémon have the custom moves listed in the guide?
Make sure the resource pack is actually enabled in your world settings and loaded before your Pokémon were caught or spawned. If you caught them before installing the pack, you may need to reset their movesets or catch new ones.
Does this pack change how abilities work?
Yes, this pack reworks many classic abilities to change battle mechanics. Check the wiki's ability guide to see which ones have been altered and how they function differently.
Will this mod conflict with other Cobblemon packs?
This pack alters movesets and abilities, so it will conflict with any other pack that modifies the same Pokémon moves or ability mechanics. Load this pack last in your resource pack order if you're combining it with others.
Can I use this pack with other mods besides SimpleTMs?
This pack is designed as a Cobblemon resource pack and works with Cobblemon itself. SimpleTMs integration is optional—the pack functions without it, though you won't be able to use the included TM configs.
What's the deal with Castform's Sandstorm form?
This pack adds a unique Sandstorm form for Castform that appears when weather conditions are right. It's a visual and mechanical addition that gives Castform more variety in battle.
How do I know which Pokémon got new moves?
Check the wiki's guide on finding Pokémon with custom moves, or look at the move selection menu in-game—custom moves will appear in their movesets. The screenshots on the wiki show examples of Pokémon like Tyrantrum, Greninja, and Chesnaught with their new attacks.
Do I need to reinstall or reconfigure anything after updating the pack?
If you're updating to a new version, simply replace the old pack files with the new ones. Your existing Pokémon will use updated movesets the next time you load the world, though you may want to check the changelog for major changes.
Can I disable specific custom moves or abilities I don't like?
This is a resource pack, so you can't easily disable individual moves without editing the pack files directly. Your best option is to not use affected Pokémon, or check if the pack author provides alternate versions with different configurations.
