Kit Spleef Map — Guide

Kits and Special Abilities

Players can select from six distinct kits, each tailored to a specific playstyle. As players dig snow during the match, their XP bar fills. Once the required level is reached, they can activate a powerful Special Ability.

Kit Name Primary Tool/Item Special Ability XP Cost Ability Effect
Snow Shoveler Unbreakable Diamond Shovel Ground Pound 6 Levels Smashes the ground to create holes under all nearby players.
Archer Bow & Digging Arrows TNT Arrows 4-6 Levels Shoots explosive arrows that blast large holes in the terrain.
Demolitionist Creeper Spawn Eggs Proximity Mine 4 Levels Places a nearly invisible mine that detonates when opponents approach.
Teleporter Ender Pearls Place Swapper 7 Levels Instantly swaps your location with a random opponent on the map.
Beastmaster Despawn Egg Bat Bombs 8 Levels Summons three bats carrying TNT that explode simultaneously for massive damage.
Builder Infinite Snow Blocks Magic Boots 8 Levels Generates a temporary platform of snow beneath your feet as you walk.

Kit Details

  • Snow Shoveler: The fastest digger. The Ground Pound ability is excellent for clearing out groups of players standing on the same layer.
  • Archer: Arrows naturally dig 3x3 holes upon impact. TNT Arrows upgrade this to a high-yield explosion.
  • Demolitionist (Pyrotechnic): Creepers spawned by this kit will actively track targets before exploding.
  • Teleporter: Uses Ender Pearls for vertical and horizontal mobility. The Place Swapper is a high-risk, high-reward move to save yourself from falling.
  • Beastmaster: The Despawn Egg blinds and nauseates nearby players, making it difficult for them to dig or move accurately.
  • Builder: The only kit capable of placing blocks. Magic Boots allow for 'bridge-walking' over empty space to escape certain death.

Game Mechanics

Winning Conditions

The objective is to be the last player standing on the snow platforms. Players who fall through the bottom layer into the void (or designated 'dead zone') are eliminated. If Players Take Damage is enabled, players can also be eliminated through combat or environmental hazards.

XP System

Special abilities are fueled by digging. Every block of snow destroyed contributes to the player's XP bar. This encourages active participation rather than 'camping' in a corner. Once the XP bar reaches the threshold for the selected kit, the ability item is granted to the player's inventory.

Sudden Death

To prevent stalemates, the Sudden Death mechanic can be enabled. After a customizable duration, TNT begins to fall from the sky, rapidly destroying the remaining arena until only one player remains.

Gameplay Action

Arena and Terrain Modes

The map features a dynamic arena generator that supports different layouts and heights.

Level Modes

  • Classic Mode: Generates a series of flat, rectangular snow platforms. Players can choose between 1, 2, or 3 layers of snow.
  • Special Mode (Terrain): Generates complex terrain including staircases, walls, and small forts on each layer. This adds a verticality and cover-based strategy to the spleefing.

Environmental Options

  • Day/Night Cycle: Enables the standard Minecraft time cycle. Lobby lamps will automatically illuminate when it becomes dark.
  • Time of Day: Allows the host to lock the match time to specific periods (e.g., Midnight, Noon, Sunset).

CPU Players (AI)

The map includes custom-coded AI 'Undead Spleefers' (Zombies/Skeletons) that act as opponents.

  • Behavior: They will actively move toward players and dig the blocks beneath them.
  • Difficulty: In newer versions (26.x), the AI difficulty can be adjusted to change their digging speed and movement patterns.
  • Single-player Support: A dedicated single-player area allows you to fight against a customizable number of bots (adjustable by twos) to practice kit strategies.
