Kinetic Storage Integration Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need Create installed for this data pack to work?
Yes, this data pack requires the Create mod to function. It rebalances storage recipes to use Create's mechanical components, so without Create installed, the recipes won't generate.
How do I start making storage blocks if I don't have kinetic machinery yet?
You'll need to progress through Create's early-game recipes first to build basic mechanical components like gears and shafts. Once you have a working kinetic system, the rebalanced storage recipes become available.
Can I use this data pack with my existing survival world?
Yes, you can add this data pack to an existing world. However, any storage blocks you've already crafted won't change—only new recipes going forward will use the kinetic versions.
Why aren't the storage recipes showing up in my crafting menu?
Check that both Create and this data pack are properly loaded in your world. If recipes still don't appear, try the troubleshooting guide to verify your data pack folder structure and load order.
Do storage blocks look or function differently with this data pack?
No, the storage blocks themselves look and work exactly the same as before. Only the way you craft them has changed to require kinetic machinery instead of standard crafting.
Can I automate the production of storage blocks?
Yes, that's the whole point of this data pack. Once you know which mechanical components each storage block needs, you can set up automated production lines using Create's machinery.
Will this data pack cause lag or performance issues?
Data packs are lightweight and shouldn't cause performance problems. If you experience lag, it's more likely from the Create machinery itself or your modpack's other mods.
Does this work with other storage mods besides Tom's Create Style?
This data pack is specifically designed for Tom's Create Style storage items. It may not work with other storage mods unless they use compatible item names and IDs.
What if I want to go back to normal crafting recipes?
Simply remove the data pack from your world's data pack folder and reload. Your storage blocks will still exist, but new ones will craft using vanilla recipes again.
Can I use this in a multiplayer server?
Yes, add the data pack to your server's data pack folder just like you would in single-player. All players will see the same rebalanced recipes.
