Optimize Justwaves for Better Performance
Check Current Performance Impact
Note your current frame rate in different water environments—oceans, rivers, and lakes. Open the shader settings to identify which features consume the most resources.
Reduce Wave Complexity
Lower the wave height and frequency settings to decrease the computational load. Simpler wave patterns require less processing power. You can also disable advanced foam calculations if performance is critical.
Disable Optional Effects
Turn off shoreline foam and wet sand animations if needed. These effects are optional and disabling them provides a noticeable performance boost while maintaining the core wave motion that defines Justwaves.
Test and Balance
After each adjustment, return to water and measure frame rate changes. Find the sweet spot where waves still look good but your system runs smoothly. Justwaves is designed to be lightweight, so even with all features enabled, most modern systems should handle it well. If you're on older hardware, reducing wave intensity is usually more effective than disabling features entirely.
