Itemed Arrows Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything after installing the mod to see the arrow changes?
No setup is required—the mod works automatically once installed. As soon as you load a world, all arrows will display as 2D item sprites instead of 3D models.
Will this mod work with my resource pack?
Yes, the mod uses your resource pack's arrow item texture, so custom resource packs will change how the arrows look in flight. Make sure your resource pack is loaded before the mod applies its shaders.
Do arrows shot by skeletons and other players look different too?
Yes, all arrows in the world—whether you shoot them, other players do, or skeletons fire them—will display as 2D item sprites.
Can I turn off the mod for specific arrow types?
The mod applies to all standard arrows equally and does not have built-in options to exclude certain arrow types. If you need selective control, you would need to use a resource pack to hide specific arrow textures.
Does this affect arrow damage or how they behave?
No, this is purely visual—arrows behave exactly the same way they normally do. Damage, flight physics, and all mechanics remain unchanged.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod uses core shaders and is designed to be lightweight, so it should have minimal performance impact. If you experience lag, try disabling other shader mods or resource-heavy packs running alongside it.
Why do arrows sometimes look hard to see against certain backgrounds?
Because arrows are now flat 2D sprites, they can blend into backgrounds more easily than 3D models. This is most noticeable in bright areas or when arrows are far away—try adjusting your resource pack's arrow texture for better contrast if needed.
Does this mod work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, the mod is client-side only, so it works on any server without requiring the server to have it installed. Other players will see arrows normally, but you will see them as item sprites.
Can I use this with other shader mods?
This mod uses core shaders rather than a full shader pack, so it should be compatible with most other visual mods. However, conflicts may occur if another mod also modifies arrow rendering—test compatibility in your specific setup.
Do spectral arrows and other special arrow types get the item sprite treatment?
The mod applies to all standard arrow variants, including spectral arrows. They will display as their corresponding item sprite when in flight.
