Integrated Villages Configuration Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need the main Integrated Villages mod for this data pack to work?
Yes, you must have the original Integrated Villages mod installed. This configuration pack only controls settings for the main mod and does nothing on its own.
How do I actually edit the configuration files?
Open the data pack files with any text editor (Notepad, VS Code, etc.), locate the config files in the pack folder, make your changes to the spacing and separation values or biome tags, then save before launching your world.
What's the difference between spacing and separation?
Spacing sets the average distance between towns, while separation sets the minimum distance they must maintain from each other. Separation must always be a smaller number than spacing.
Can I make villages spawn in only one biome?
Yes, open the biome tags folder and remove all biomes except the one you want, or edit the has_structure file to list only your chosen biome.
What happens if I set separation higher than spacing?
The configuration will not work properly and towns may fail to generate. Always keep separation as a smaller value than spacing.
How do I prevent villages from spawning in my base's biome?
Open the biome tags file and remove that biome from the list, then save the file before loading your world.
Will changing these settings affect an existing world?
Changes typically apply to newly generated chunks. Already-generated areas with towns will keep their existing villages unless you delete those chunks.
What's the maximum spacing value I can use?
You can set spacing anywhere between 0 and 4096 chunks, depending on how rare you want villages to be.
Can I disable villages from spawning entirely?
Yes, you can either set an extremely high spacing value or remove all biomes from the biome tags file so villages have nowhere to generate.
Do I need to restart my game after editing the config files?
Yes, you must save your changes and fully restart Minecraft for the new settings to take effect in your world.
