Improved Logs Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything to activate the resource pack or does it work automatically?
The pack works automatically once you've loaded it into your world or server—no configuration needed. Just make sure it's enabled in your resource pack menu and above any conflicting packs in the load order.
Why do my logs still look flat even though I installed the pack?
Make sure the resource pack is actually selected in your resource pack settings. If it's still flat, check that no other resource pack is loaded above it that might override the textures, and try reloading your world.
Do the 3D logs work with shaders?
Yes, the pack is designed to work with shaders and actually looks best when shaders are enabled—the lighting and shadows make the rounded shapes much more realistic.
Does this pack change the shape of logs in my inventory or just in the world?
The 3D models only apply to logs placed in the world; inventory items still use the standard flat textures.
Will this pack work on servers or only single-player?
Resource packs work on both single-player and servers—just load it on your client side and it will apply to any world you join.
Does the pack affect performance or cause lag?
The 3D models are relatively lightweight, but performance depends on your hardware and whether you're using shaders; test it in your world to see if you notice any impact.
Does this work with all types of wood including Nether and End trees?
Yes, the pack updates all standard logs, stripped wood, crimson stems, warped stems, and bamboo blocks throughout the game.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs at the same time?
You can stack it with other packs, but make sure Improved Logs is positioned above any packs that also modify wood textures to avoid conflicts.
Do stripped logs and regular logs look different from each other?
Yes—stripped wood has a different texture showing the exposed wood rings inside, while regular logs keep their bark texture on all sides.
Does the pack change how logs look when placed horizontally or vertically?
The 3D rounded shape applies regardless of orientation, though the effect is most noticeable when logs are placed sideways, especially with shaders enabled.
