Upgrade Dragon Bone Tools to Dragonsteel at the Smithing Table

What You Need

Gather these items before starting:

• A dragon bone tool (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, or hoe)
• A netherite upgrade smithing template
• One dragonsteel ingot matching your tool's element (fire, ice, or lightning)
• Access to a smithing table

Performing the Upgrade

1. Open the smithing table interface.

2. Place the netherite upgrade smithing template in the left slot.

3. Place your dragon bone tool in the middle slot.

4. Place the dragonsteel ingot in the right slot.

5. The upgraded dragonsteel tool will appear in the output slot on the right.

6. Take your new dragonsteel tool.

Important Notes

Make sure the dragonsteel ingot matches your tool's element—you cannot mix fire, ice, and lightning variants. The smithing table will reject incompatible combinations. This upgrade preserves any enchantments on your original dragon bone tool, making it an efficient way to progress without losing magical properties.
