Do I need netherite to use this data pack?

Can I upgrade my old dragon bone tools without losing them?
Yes. Place your dragon bone tool in the middle slot of the smithing table with a netherite upgrade smithing template and a dragonsteel ingot, and it will upgrade without being destroyed.
What's the difference between fire, ice, and lightning dragonsteel?
Each element variant is tied to the corresponding dragon type in Ice and Fire—fire dragonsteel comes from fire dragons, ice from ice dragons, and lightning from lightning dragons. The upgrade process is the same for all three; choose the element that matches your dragon source.
Where do I get the netherite upgrade smithing template?
Netherite upgrade smithing templates are found in the Nether, typically in bastion remnants and other Nether structures, just like in vanilla Minecraft.
Can I upgrade full armor sets, or just individual pieces?
You can upgrade individual armor pieces one at a time—helmets, chestplates, leggings, and boots all work at the smithing table, so you'll need to upgrade each piece separately.
Do I need dragon blood for every upgrade, or just to make the ingots?
