Understanding Dragonsteel Ingot Creation

Dragonsteel ingots are the key material for all smithing upgrades. You must craft them in a Dragon Forge before you can upgrade any gear.

Forging Dragonsteel Ingots

1. Locate or build a Dragon Forge (from the Ice and Fire mod).

2. Gather dragon blood corresponding to your desired element (fire, ice, or lightning).

3. Obtain a netherite ingot.

4. Place both materials into the Dragon Forge.

5. The forge will produce a dragonsteel ingot of the matching element.

Planning Your Materials

Each tool or armor upgrade requires one dragonsteel ingot. A full armor set needs four ingots (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), plus additional ingots for any tools you want to upgrade. Gather dragon blood and netherite ingots in advance to streamline your crafting process. The data pack changes the Dragon Forge recipe to use netherite instead of iron, making dragonsteel more valuable but less wasteful overall.
