Reduce Lag on Low-End Computers
Check Current Performance
Note your current frame rate using the debug screen (F3 on most setups). Identify areas where performance dips most—usually caves with many shadows or large water areas.
Lower Shadow Quality
Access shader settings and find shadow-related options. Reduce shadow distance or shadow resolution to decrease the computational load. Shorter shadows will still look good but render faster.
Disable or Reduce Bloom
Lower the bloom intensity slider significantly. Bloom is a visual effect, not essential to gameplay, and reducing it frees up processing power without affecting visibility.
Simplify Reflections
Disable water reflections entirely if your system struggles. This is one of the easiest ways to gain frames without sacrificing the shader's core appeal.
Test in Demanding Areas
Visit caves, forests, and water-heavy biomes to confirm improved performance. HSN Shaders is built for potato PCs, so you should see playable frame rates even with most features enabled. If performance is still poor, consider lowering your render distance or texture resolution in Minecraft's video settings.
