Reducing Camera Distortion and Video Artifacts

Open Shader Configuration

Access the shader options menu from your video settings. Find the section labeled for video effects, distortion, or camera simulation.

Locate Distortion Controls

HorrorCraft adds subtle video noise and lens artifacts to mimic bodycam footage. Look for sliders controlling film grain, chromatic aberration, or scan-line effects. These create the found-footage feel but can be distracting.

Adjust Individual Effects

Reduce the grain intensity slider to lower visual noise. If color fringing appears at screen edges, lower chromatic aberration. Scan-line or interlace effects can often be toggled off entirely if they bother you.

Balance Atmosphere and Clarity

Disabling all distortion removes the mod's signature style. Instead, lower effects to subtle levels—keep some grain and slight color shifts to maintain the horror aesthetic while improving visibility and reducing eye strain.

Apply and Test

Save changes and play for several minutes in different lighting conditions. Adjust further if needed until the visual style feels right for your experience.
