Optimizing Performance While Using HorrorCraft Shaders
Check Shader Intensity Settings
Open shader options and look for performance-related toggles. HorrorCraft's lighting calculations and distortion effects demand GPU resources. Find options to reduce shadow quality, lower distortion resolution, or disable advanced lighting features.
Disable Unnecessary Effects
Turn off video artifacts or scan-line effects if they aren't essential to your experience. These are often the most performance-intensive visual additions. Keeping core darkness and lighting changes while removing extras can significantly improve frame rates.
Adjust Render Distance
Shaders affect how far the game renders. Reduce render distance slightly if you experience lag. This is especially important in open areas where the shader must process lighting across many blocks.
Lower Graphics Settings
Ensure your base Minecraft graphics are set appropriately—use Fast graphics mode, disable fancy leaves and particles, and reduce entity shadows if available.
Monitor Frame Rate
Use F3 debug screen to watch FPS while adjusting settings. Make one change at a time so you know what impacts performance most. Find the sweet spot between visual quality and smooth gameplay.
