Adjust Lighting Intensity for Your Build Style
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually accessed through your video settings). Look for the Heliox Shaders configuration panel.
Customize Light Behavior
Locate the colored lighting intensity slider. This controls how strongly light sources like torches, lanterns, and glowstone tint nearby blocks with their color. Lower values create subtle ambient tints; higher values make colored light more dramatic and visible from greater distances.
Fine-Tune Shadow Depth
Adjust the shadow intensity setting to control how dark shadows appear beneath trees, overhangs, and structures. Increase this if you want more dramatic contrast between lit and shadowed areas. Decrease it if shadows feel too harsh or make caves and interiors too dark to navigate comfortably.
Test Your Changes
Build a small test area with various light sources—torches, lanterns, and glowstone—in both open and sheltered locations. Walk around at different times of day to see how your adjustments affect visibility and aesthetics. Tweak values incrementally until the lighting matches your preferred playstyle.
