Adjust Shader Settings for Different Times of Day
Configure Sun and Moon Shadow Behavior
GPT_RT Shaders calculates soft shadows based on the sun and moon positions. Access shader settings and look for shadow softness or penumbra controls. During midday, increase shadow softness to create gentle, realistic shadows. At sunrise and sunset, shadows naturally lengthen and soften due to low-angle light—the shader handles this automatically, but you can fine-tune the effect.
Modify Ambient Lighting for Day and Night
Adjust ambient light intensity in shader settings to match your preferred brightness. During day cycles, reduce ambient light to make sunlight the dominant illumination source. At night, increase ambient light slightly so moonlight and stars provide enough visibility without making caves too bright.
Test Across Full Day Cycles
Load your world and observe how shadows and lighting change as time progresses. Note which settings feel most natural during different times. The shader recalculates lighting continuously, so changes to sun angle directly affect shadow direction and softness in real time.
