Frame Dropped Mod FAQ

The mod begins passively monitoring your actions immediately—there's no special activation needed. You'll start noticing strange blocks scattered across your world and ambient sounds building tension; interacting with these blocks triggers the first encounters and events.

Desync is a hidden sanity meter that tracks your moral choices in the world. Killing peaceful animals and destructive behavior raise it, while breeding animals and fighting monsters lower it; high Desync causes harmful events and can forcibly eject you from your world.

Focus on breeding farm animals and actively hunting hostile monsters to keep your score balanced. Avoid unnecessary killing of peaceful mobs, and check in regularly with these activities to prevent Desync from climbing into dangerous territory.

Use the debug command `fd/debug:dimension` to teleport yourself out immediately. Avoid leaving the game or dying while inside timed dimension sequences, as this can cause the event to error and trap you longer.

Run the command `fd/debug:item` and the History Book will be added to your inventory. This book is essential for tracking lore and understanding the mod's narrative, so retrieve it as soon as you notice it's missing.

Use the command `fd/debug:entity` to despawn any bugged or unstable mobs in your world. If a specific entity keeps causing problems, try reloading your world or using the command again.

This is an intentional mechanic called passive interruptions, triggered by high Desync or proximity to anomalies. These sudden interruptions are part of the horror atmosphere and signal that something is wrong—lower your Desync or move away from strange areas.

The mod contains over ten handmade pocket dimensions that connect to special timed events triggered by interacting with strange blocks. Each dimension has its own atmosphere and encounters, and you must complete or escape them before the timer expires.

The mod includes custom entities, dimensions, and a real-time tracking system, so performance depends on your hardware and other mods. If you experience stuttering, try using the debug commands to despawn glitched entities, or reduce your render distance.
