Fast Pipes Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start a pipe network?
Craft item, fluid, or energy pipes and place them between inventories or machines. Right-click a pipe connection point with an Extractor attachment to pull resources out, then connect pipes to your destination storage. The pipes will automatically transport items with visible animations.
Why aren't items moving through my pipes?
Make sure you've attached an Extractor to the source inventory—pipes alone won't pull items. Check that the Extractor isn't filtered to exclude those items, and verify the destination has space available. If using redstone control, confirm the redstone signal isn't blocking the Extractor.
Can I connect different pipe tiers together?
Yes, different speed tiers of item, fluid, and energy pipes can connect into a single line. The throughput will be limited by the slowest pipe in that section, so mixing tiers works but won't give you the speed of your fastest pipes.
How do I upgrade a barrel in place?
Place a higher-tier barrel directly on top of or next to your current barrel and it will automatically upgrade, keeping all stored items. You don't need to empty it first—the upgrade happens instantly.
What's the difference between whitelist and blacklist filters?
Whitelist mode makes the Extractor pull only the items you specify, while blacklist mode pulls everything except the items you list. Use whitelist when you want specific items routed to one location, and blacklist to exclude junk items from clogging your pipes.
How do I keep two separate pipe networks from mixing?
Paint your pipes with different dyes using a dye item on the pipe. Pipes of different colors won't connect to each other, letting you run multiple independent networks in the same area without interference.
Can I use the pipe terminal to craft items?
Yes, place a Pipe Terminal next to any item pipe in your network and it will show all items stored across connected inventories. You can search for recipes and craft items using materials from anywhere in your network.
How do sensors and redstone work?
Attach a Sensor to a pipe and configure it to detect specific items or fluids. When those resources pass through the pipe, the Sensor outputs a redstone signal that you can use to trigger machines, doors, or other redstone contraptions.
What happens to items when my storage is full?
Items will back up in the pipes and stop moving until space opens up. You can attach a Void attachment to destroy overflow items automatically, or use Inserters with priority settings to redirect items to alternate storage locations.
Does this mod cause lag on servers?
No, Fast Pipes Mod is designed to handle large logistics networks without server lag. The visual animations are optimized and the mod uses efficient routing, making it safe for multiplayer and heavily-piped bases.
