Understand the 30-Minute Penalty Timer
How the Penalty Works
When you die and get exiled, a 30-minute penalty timer starts. If you die again before this timer expires, you won't be teleported to a new random location—instead, you'll respawn at the same exile spot where you just were.
Why This Matters
The penalty prevents chain-teleporting across the map if you're careless. It forces you to either survive carefully in your current location or accept being stuck there temporarily. This adds tension and strategy to your recovery.
Playing Through the Penalty
During the penalty window:
- Avoid dangerous situations like fighting multiple mobs or exploring dark caves.
- Build shelter and gather resources safely.
- Use a bed to set your spawn point so you don't lose progress if you die.
After the Timer Expires
Once 30 minutes pass, your penalty clears. Your next death will teleport you to a new exile location according to your active difficulty profile. The mod saves penalty timers even if the server restarts.
