Exiled Horizons Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on Exiled Horizons for the first time?
Type /chm enable in chat or click the chat prompt that appears when you start your world. You'll then see a menu to select your difficulty profile (Merciful, Standard, or Brutal) before the system activates.
Can I play with friends without them downloading anything?
Yes, the mod runs entirely server-side, so your friends can join and play normally without installing any extra files or mods on their client.
What happens if I die again within 30 minutes of being exiled?
You'll be teleported to the same exile location you just arrived at instead of a new random spot, and the 30-minute timer resets. This penalty encourages you to prepare and survive more carefully.
Will I lose my base and builds when I get exiled?
No, your entire world and all your builds stay intact—you're just teleported thousands of blocks away. You can attempt to navigate back or start fresh in your new location.
How far away will I be teleported?
It depends on your difficulty profile: Merciful sends you 50,000–100,000 blocks away, Standard sends you 100,000–500,000 blocks away, and Brutal sends you 500,000–1,000,000 blocks away.
Can I change difficulty profiles after I've already started playing?
Yes, use /chm profile in chat to switch between Merciful, Standard, and Brutal at any time during your world.
What if I get teleported into a wall or lava pool?
The mod checks terrain before teleporting you, so it will find a safe landing spot. You'll also get a one-second freeze window to orient yourself before landing.
Do penalty timers and exile locations save if the server restarts?
Yes, all penalty timers, active profiles, and your current exile location are saved and will persist even after a server restart.
Can I disable the mod if I want to stop using it?
Yes, type /chm disable in chat to turn off the exile system. You can re-enable it anytime with /chm enable.
How do I check if the mod is currently active and what profile I'm using?
Type /chm status in chat to see whether the exile system is enabled or disabled and which difficulty profile is currently active.
