Set Up Exiled Horizons for Your First Time

Enable the Mod

Start a new Survival world on Hard difficulty. Once you spawn, you'll see a chat prompt asking if you want to activate the exile system. Click the prompt or type /chm enable in chat to turn it on.

Choose Your Difficulty Profile

After enabling, a menu will appear with three options:

  • Merciful: 50,000–100,000 blocks away. Best for learning the mod.
  • Standard: 100,000–500,000 blocks away. Balanced challenge.
  • Brutal: 500,000–1,000,000 blocks away. Extreme survival test.

Select the profile that matches your playstyle. You can change it later with /chm profile.

Prepare for Exile

Before risking death, craft backup tools and gather essential supplies. Store duplicates in chests at your base—if you die and get teleported far away, you'll need gear to survive and navigate back. Consider making a map or noting coordinates of your home base before venturing into dangerous territory.

You're now ready to play. The mod will only activate if you take fatal damage.
