Enhanced Farming Mod — Guide

Crops and Plants

Enhanced Farming adds several new crops that can be grown on standard Farmland. Most crops have 6 to 8 growth stages.

Crop Seed Source Growth Stages Special Notes
Aubergine (Eggplant) Raking Grass 6 Standard crop.
Corn Raking Grass 8 Grows taller than standard crops.
Cucumber Raking Grass 6 Used in salads and sandwiches.
Garlic Raking Grass 6 Used for seasoning and recipes.
Grape Raking Grass 6 Requires Crop-sticks to grow.
Lettuce Raking Grass 6 Essential for BLT sandwiches.
Mint Raking Grass 6 Used for Mint Tea and Mint Chocolate.
Onion Raking Grass 6 Standard vegetable crop.
Pineapple Raking Grass 6 Tropical fruit crop.
Tomato Raking Grass 7 High-yield vegetable.
Nether Flower Raking Soul Sand 6 Only grows on Soul Sand; drops Blaze Powder.

Fruit Trees

Unlike vanilla trees, Enhanced Farming saplings grow through 6 distinct stages similar to crops before maturing into a full tree. Once fully grown, the leaves will periodically drop fruit.

Tree Varieties and Habitats

  • Forest Biomes: Apple, Lemon, Orange, Cherry, Pear, Avocado, Mango.
  • Savannah Biomes: Olive.
  • Jungle Biomes: Banana.

Tree Mechanics

  • Growth: Saplings must be planted on Dirt or Grass. They progress through stages until they reach "Tree" status. Bone Meal can be used to accelerate these early stages.
  • Harvesting: Once the tree is mature, fruits will appear on the leaves. These can be right-clicked to harvest without breaking the leaves. On "Fast" graphics settings, fruit may not be visually distinct from leaves, so "Fancy" graphics are recommended.

Tools

The mod introduces two primary tool sets that streamline the farming process. These tools are available in all standard material tiers: Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite.

Rakes

Rakes are the primary method for obtaining modded seeds. Using a rake on a Grass Block will turn it into Dirt and provide a chance to drop seeds from both vanilla Minecraft and the Enhanced Farming mod.

Tier Seed Drop Chance Durability
Wood Low 59
Stone Medium-Low 131
Iron Medium 250
Gold Very High 32
Diamond High 1561
Netherite Very High 2031

Scythes

Scythes are used to harvest mature crops in a wide area. Right-clicking a crop with a scythe will harvest it and automatically replant the seeds if they are available in the player's inventory, significantly speeding up large-scale farming operations.

Blocks and Machinery

Scarecrow

The Scarecrow is a functional utility block that prevents passive animals (like cows, sheep, and pigs) from spawning or wandering into your crops. It has an effective radius of 5 blocks in every direction (creating an 11x11 protected square).

Crop-sticks

Crop-sticks are a support structure planted on Farmland. They are mandatory for growing Grapes. To use them, place the Crop-stick on tilled soil and then plant the Grape seed onto the stick.

Piston Crafting (Olive Oil)

To produce Olive Oil, the mod utilizes a unique world-interaction mechanic. Players must place an Olive on a solid block and use a Piston to "squish" it. This process converts the Olive into Olive Oil, which is used in various high-tier food recipes.

Food and Beverages

The mod significantly expands the player's diet with dozens of new consumables.

Juices and Drinks

Juices are crafted using fruits and glass bottles. They provide decent hunger restoration and saturation. * Apple Juice, Lemonade, Orange Juice, Cherry Juice, Pear Juice, Mango Juice. * Mint Tea: Crafted using Mint leaves and a water bottle. * Hot Chocolate: Crafted by smelting a Cold Chocolate Bottle in a furnace.

Golden Fruits

Similar to Golden Apples, players can craft Golden Lemons and Golden Oranges. These provide enhanced status effects and high saturation. * Recipe: 1 Fruit (Lemon or Orange) surrounded by 8 Gold Nuggets.

Chocolate Items

  • Chocolate Bar: Basic sweet treat.
  • Mint Chocolate: Crafted with Chocolate and Mint leaves.
  • Chocolate Candy: Small, stackable snacks.

Prepared Meals

  • Salads: Combining various vegetables (Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber) in a bowl.
  • Sandwiches: Including the BLT (Bread, Lettuce, Tomato, and Cooked Bacon).
  • Pies: Fruit-based pies like Cherry Pie and Apple Pie.
