Troubleshoot Custom Emojis Not Appearing

Verify File Format and Size

Check that your image files are in a supported format: PNG, JPG, or animated GIF. Confirm each file is under 512 KB. Corrupted or oversized files won't load. If you're unsure, try a different image file to test.

Reload the Emoji Folder

Open the Emotify emotion picker and click the folder icon again to refresh the custom emoji directory. Sometimes the mod needs a moment to detect newly added files. Close and reopen the menu if files still don't appear.

Restart the Game

If reloading the folder doesn't work, fully close and relaunch Minecraft. This forces the mod to rescan all custom emoji files from scratch.

Check Permissions

Ensure you have read and write access to the custom emoji folder. On some systems, folder permissions can prevent the mod from detecting new files. If you're on a server, confirm your account has the emotify.use permission to send any emojis at all.
