Elytrune Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on Elytrune Shaders after installing it?
Open the Options menu in-game, go to Video Settings, then select Shaders. Find Elytrune Shaders in the list and click it to activate. You'll see the shader take effect immediately on your world.
My game is running slowly with Elytrune Shaders. What should I do?
Switch to a lower performance profile in the shader settings—try Medium or Low if you're on High. You can also reduce render distance or disable other visual mods that might conflict with the shader effects.
Why does my world look too dark at night?
Check the Optimize Lighting for Nighttime Exploration guide—you may need to adjust the shader's brightness or contrast settings, or ensure torches and other light sources are placed to guide your path safely.
Can I use Elytrune Shaders with other mods?
Yes, Elytrune Shaders works with most mods, but visual mods that also change lighting or water may conflict. Test your mod combination and disable conflicting visual enhancements if you see glitches.
Why do my water reflections look weird or disappear?
Make sure you're using the High or Medium profile, as reflections are reduced on Low. If reflections still don't appear, try moving away and back toward the water, or check that your render distance isn't set too low.
How do I see the sky color changes at sunrise and sunset?
The natural sky transitions happen automatically during dawn and dusk—just watch the sky as time passes in-game. If you want to experience them faster, use commands to set the time or visit the Appreciate Water Reflections and Wave Effects guide for timing tips.
Does Elytrune Shaders work on servers?
Shaders are client-side only, so you can use Elytrune Shaders on any server without affecting other players or requiring server-side installation.
Why are shadows too soft or too harsh?
Adjust the shadow softness setting in the shader options menu to find a balance that suits your preference. Different performance profiles also have different shadow settings built in.
Can I customize individual shader features like water or sky separately?
Yes—open the shader settings menu (usually by pressing a hotkey or through Video Settings) to find toggles and sliders for water reflections, sky colors, shadow intensity, and other effects.
What's the difference between the Low, Medium, and High profiles?
Low uses fewer effects and runs faster on weaker hardware; Medium balances visuals and performance; High enables all features including detailed reflections and soft shadows but requires more GPU power. See the Switch Between Performance Profiles guide for detailed comparisons.
