Using the Woodland Staff and Dirt Bucket

Woodland Staff Basics

The Woodland Staff is the tool tied to Dynamic Trees. Use it to interact with tree blocks directly — breaking a tree with it removes the connected structure cleanly so you can harvest wood and seeds in one action. Carry it whenever you clear forest, since it lets you take down a full tree from the base instead of climbing and chopping block by block.

Dirt Bucket for Planting

Dirt Bucket lets you place dirt where you need it. Use it to prepare ground for planting propagation items like Oak Acorn, Birch Catkin, Spruce Cone, Jungle Pod, Acacia Seed, Dark Oak Acorn, Mangrove Propagule, Cherry Blossom Pit, Pale Oak Acorn, Crimson Cap, or Warped Cap. Fill gaps, level terrain, or build planting plots on surfaces that would otherwise be unsuitable.

Water Roots and Mangrove

Mangrove Tree requires Water Roots to grow. Place Water Roots in the water or wet area where you want the mangrove to establish, then plant the Mangrove Propagule nearby. Once grown, harvest the Mangrove Tree at its base to get wood and more Mangrove Propagule for the next planting.

Potted Sapling

Potted Sapling is a decorative block. Craft it from a sapling-type item when you want a small display version of a tree rather than a full grown Dynamic Tree.
