How to Get Saplings and Grow New Trees

Gather the Seed Item

Every Dynamic Trees species drops a unique seed instead of a vanilla sapling. Break a grown tree's trunk to obtain it: Oak Acorn from Oak Tree, Apple Pip from Oak Tree fruit drops, Birch Catkin from Birch Tree, Spruce Cone from Spruce Tree, Jungle Pod from Jungle Tree, Acacia Seed from Acacia Tree, Dark Oak Acorn from Dark Oak Tree, Cherry Blossom Pit from Cherry Tree, Mangrove Propagule from Mangrove Tree, Pale Oak Acorn from Pale Oak Tree, Crimson Cap from Crimson Tree, and Warped Cap from Warped Tree. Larger forms yield Mega Spruce Cone, Mega Jungle Pod, Mega Crimson Cap, and Mega Warped Cap.

Plant and Grow

Place the seed item on valid ground for that species. Overworld species need dirt or grass; Crimson Cap and Warped Cap need Nether-appropriate ground. Once planted, the seed establishes a sapling that grows into a full Dynamic Tree over time. Give it space — the mature tree spreads a wide canopy and a deep root structure, so clear neighbouring blocks.

Use the Woodland Staff

Craft a Woodland Staff using the crafting_shaped recipe available in the mod. The Woodland Staff lets you interact with growing trees, so keep one on hand when managing a plantation. If a planted seed does not develop, confirm the ground type matches the species and that nothing is blocking the growth space above it.
