Donut Shards Plugin FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start earning shards?
Shards are awarded automatically through the recurring reward system—just play normally and you'll accumulate them over time. You can check your balance anytime with `/shards balance`.
What's the tax on shard transfers and how does it work?
When you send shards to another player using `/shards pay`, a customizable percentage is deducted as tax and removed from the total sent. The server admin sets the tax rate, so ask them what percentage applies on your server.
Can I lose shards if my balance goes negative?
No—the plugin prevents balances from dropping below zero, so you can never go into debt. If you try to spend or send more than you have, the transaction will fail.
How do I check another player's balance?
Use `/shards balance ` with their username to see their current shard amount, as long as the server allows balance lookups.
What happens if I reach the maximum shard limit?
The plugin caps your balance at a maximum amount set by the server admin to prevent overflow. You won't earn or receive shards once you hit this limit until you spend some.
Can I see my transaction history?
Yes—the plugin stores all transaction history automatically, so you can review past sends, receives, and shop purchases. Check with your server admin on how to access this log.
Do I need to stay online to earn shards passively?
The mod supports AFK shard earning, so you can stay in the game without actively playing. Use `/afk leave` when you want to stop being marked as AFK.
What items can I buy from the Cosmic Shop?
The shop contents are customized by your server admin, so the available rewards depend on your specific server setup. Open `/shardshop` to see what's currently for sale.
Is there a cooldown on sending shards to friends?
The plugin allows quick transfers between players, but your server admin may have set cooldowns or limits—check your server rules or try a transfer to see if restrictions apply.
Will my shard balance be safe if the server crashes?
Yes—all balances and transactions are stored securely in a database, so your shards are protected even if the server restarts unexpectedly.
