Troubleshoot Players Landing in Unsafe Locations
Common Landing Problems
If players report teleporting into water, lava, or suffocating inside blocks, the plugin's safety detection may need adjustment. This usually happens when terrain generation creates unusual block patterns or when configuration rules are too permissive.
Diagnosing the Issue
1. Ask the player for their teleport coordinates
2. Visit that location and check the surrounding terrain
3. Verify the plugin is checking for the correct "safe" block types in your config
4. Ensure the landing height calculation isn't placing players too low
Fixing Safety Detection
Review your dimension-specific settings to confirm which blocks count as safe landing surfaces. Common safe blocks include grass, stone, dirt, and wood. If your world uses custom blocks or terrain mods, you may need to add those to the whitelist.
Increase the landing height buffer so players spawn higher above terrain, giving them clearance. Use /rtp reload after changes. If problems persist, test RTP yourself in the problematic area and check the server logs for error messages that indicate what the plugin detected.
