Troubleshoot Disabled Recipes Not Working

Check File Names and Extensions

The most common issue is incorrect naming. Verify that:

1. Your filename matches the exact item name (use underscores, not spaces)

2. The .json extension is present and spelled correctly

3. No extra characters or spaces exist in the filename

4. The file remains at 0kb in size—it should be completely blank

Confirm Data Pack Location

Ensure the entire data pack folder is placed in your world's Datapacks folder, not nested inside another folder. The path should be World/Datapacks/Dark_Bindings_Recipe_Disabler/.

Reload Properly

Type /reload in chat—do not simply close and reopen the world. A full server restart also works if the reload command doesn't take effect.

Verify the Item Is Supported

Not every item from Dark Bindings can be disabled. Check the pack's supported items list to confirm your target item is included. If it's not listed, that recipe cannot be disabled with this pack.

Test One Item

If multiple disables aren't working, rename only one file and reload. This isolates whether the problem is with your setup or a specific filename.
